Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 257 is just around the corner and, after a long break, fans are excited for the series to make its return once again. The break last week came at a pivotal moment, right when Yuji was about to unleash his awakened powers on Sukuna. In this week's chapter, things are going to be more than exciting, and fans are eager to see what developments Gege will make in his story.

Of course, the battle in Shinjuku is looking incredibly exciting at this point, and it will most likely continue with great intensity going forward as well. Sukuna's response to Yuji, as well as Yuji's newfound powers, are going to be central in JJK chapter 257.

Thanks to Larue, Yuji was able to land this perfect black flash on him, and with that, his powers awakened.

At the moment, fans do not know what Yuji's awakening is going to be. However, there are multiple ideas out there that all seem to be very interesting. The most prominent idea is that Yuji's awakening will allow him to use his reverse cursed technique at a very high level, and at the same time, it will also give him access to higher techniques of the blood manipulation cursed technique. Yuji has only just started making use of this power. However, he has not accessed its advanced techniques just yet, other than Piercing Blood. This was confirmed by Choso himself, and fans will most likely get to see the limits that Yuji can surpass in the upcoming chapter.

Of course, JJK chapter 257 could end up surprising the fans by giving Yuji a completely new power, such as granting him access to Sukuna's cursed technique or, above all, giving him access to the ability to hit black flashes at will. Both of these power-ups would be absolutely incredible for him. However, at this point, fans do not know whether the author will go in that direction or not. However, that said, Sukuna will most likely be on the back foot in the upcoming battle. This isn't a surprise, given that more attention will now be thrown on Yuji. The author cannot give Sukuna shining moments and do the same for Yuji at the same time. If Yuji is to shine in the upcoming chapter, then Sukuna will most likely fall back a bit and be on the defensive. This is expected, and fans should make their peace with that, as well as prepare for it.

Sukuna will most likely be Yuji's punching bag in the upcoming chapter, and whatever ability he ends up awakening will most likely be tested on Sukuna himself.

In JJK chapter 257, fans should brace for the final phase of the series to kickstart. With Yuji's awakening now having come, there is likely not going to be any other power-up that will come his way. That is precisely why fans should keep in mind that this power-up is likely going to be significant for him, and it will completely define him as a sorcerer. This is Yuji's biggest power-up to date, and it will most likely see him gain enough strength to match Sukuna and combat. Of course, fans should also keep in mind that Sukuna is considerably weakened at this point in the story, and that means Yuji will not have to rise to the level of the strongest sorcerer in entire history to be able to defeat him.

Yuji's progress can be gradual, and he'd still be able to match Sukuna in battle, and that would be the right balance for his character growth as well.
