Looking at just my social media, you may not believe the primary reason I moved to Hawai’i was to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. I always loved designing and building things, and as a kid I always thought that was just normal kid stuff. After a few years trying to do art school, I realized engineering fit my skills and passions better than anything else. So I moved to Honolulu to go to UH Manoa and study engineering. I did photography here and there at first as a hobby, and thought maybe I could work at Canon or GoPro designing new camera technology, but by the time I was a senior I was already making more on Instagram than at my internship. It’s hard to want to fully commit to social media with how volatile it is, so I completed my degree, but never even looked for an engineering job. Almost 5 years later I couldn’t have made a better decision. The impact that I have is far greater than what I could do with engineering, and I’ve even been able to use some of what I had learned to create tools that I use for my video production. It took me 8 years to graduate with a 4 year degree. It’s weird looking back thinking that college was a “waste of time” but if I hadn’t put myself in that situation I may not be where I am today.

It’s currently 10:47a and I have already created 3 unique pieces of content, two are typical to what I normally do and the third is something new I’m testing. I have posted 3 different videos across 3 different platforms and have videos ready for tomorrow as well. The rest of my day is free to help Britt fix her car, go to the gym, and catch sunset. 2 years ago I thought TikTok was a place for cringe cosplay people and dance videos. After being pushed by a gen Z friend to start posting there, I figured out how to make my videos consistently go viral by adapting successful formats to fit my videos, so that I could be easy to digest while showing people something they had never seen before. The greatest success, though, was when my first trash video went viral (18m views) and I learned that I could literally just pick up trash and people would watch it. I had already been doing this every time I dove anyways, so it wasn’t any extra work besides to make a video of it. Today I reached 10m followers on Tiktok, and the icing on the cake is that the final push was made with another viral trash cleanup video. (3m views in 17h). There are times when it’s hard and I feel like I’m wasting my time and my videos aren’t going as viral as they should be, but it just makes it that much sweeter when a video randomly pops like they used to every time when I was just starting. Anyways Idk how to end this so thanks for reading it I guess and if u are copying me and find a GoPro at least sell it to me so that I can go viral with it lol.
