Herbalismallows you to gather various plants and herbs throughout the world. These herbsare used for a variety of different uses such as creating flasks and potionswith Guide to Alchemy. Herbalism can be agreat profession for farming gold through raw materials.

Herbalismis one of the few gathering professions available to players. This professionfocuses on collecting resources in the form of herbs, rather than crafting itemsor consumables for use. These gathered herbs are most commonly used togetherwith Guide to Alchemy to create variouspotions, flasks, and elixirs.

When you have the Herbalismskill, you can use Find Herbs to track and show the location of nearbyherbs on your minimap. Make sure to keep this up whenever you are out gatheringor you will have a much harder time finding nodes.

Cataclysm brings 6 new Herbalismmaterials for players to gather.

In Cataclysm, you no longer need to visit different trainers to learn newranks of Herbalism.Every trainer will now be able to each you all ranks in any major city.

Cataclysm also adds profession trainers in each starting zone, allowing youto pick up a profession right away rather than needing to reach a major cityfirst.

To start off you will be gathering Silverleaf and Peacebloomin the low-level starting areas. At 15 you can begin to gather Earthroot to help speed up the process.

Be sure to train Journeyman Herbalist before heading out, allowing you toprogress up to 150 Herbalism skill. To quickly get through these skill levels,focus mostly on Mageroyal, Briarthorn, and Bruiseweed as they remain the highest chance to grant a skillincrease.

Here you will be mostly focusing on Fadeleaf, Khadgar's Whisker, Kingsblood, and Liferoot. At 225return to your nearest Herbalist trainer to unlock Master Herbalism.

At first you will only be able to gather Sungrass, but soon you willbe able to pick Golden Sansam, Dreamfoil, and Mountain Silversage as well.

A few Classic WoW herbs can be found in Outland and used to skill up yourHerbalism in both Hellfire Peninsula and Zangarmarsh. Keep an eye out for theseas they are a large part of your early skill-ups gained in Outland. Until yourHerbalism Skill reaches 325, we recommend staying in Hellfire Peninsula andgathering all herbs that give a skill increase.

For these next 25 skill levels Terokkar Forest fits your needs, offeringmultiple herbs with guaranteed skill increases.

Be sure to head to a Herbalist trainer to unlock Grand MasterHerbalism, allowing you to max out your Herbalism at 450 skill level. BoreanTundra is a decent zone for herbing as it has 3 different plants to pick fromand flat, open ground, allowing you to quickly travel from herb to herb. If youare having trouble getting the last few skill-ups in this zone, head to GrizzlyHills at 375 instead.

Sholazar Basin is one of the best zones for picking herbs in all of Wrath ofthe Lich King. You can easily get your last 25 skill points here as there is anoverabundance of herbs to find.

You'll be gathering 3 different herbs here, Cinderbloom, Azshara's Veil, and Stormvine.

Here you will mainly be gathering Whiptail. This route is shortcompared to others and is packed full of herbs, making it the easiest way toreach 525.

Herbalism provides access to a unique, personal spell Lifeblood. Thehealing of this spell scales with your Herbalism skill and maximum health,offering you a moderate heal-over-time.
