Some other key features for the Bow include its coatings that give useful buffs and unlimited arrows that can hail upon the monsters from afar. Some Special arrows are capable of hitting one monster several times with one shot. Its charged shots can deal significant damage when aimed at a monster's weak points, a feature that would pair great with the Skill, Weakness Exploit. Because of their rapid nature and ability to deal status effects, Elemental Skills might be considered for the Dual Blades, which is then complemented with Critical Element to maximize elemental damage output, similarly to how Critical increases damage. MHRise Great Sword Builds

Generally, most Great Swordbuilds are going to be built around raw attack damage and affinity rather than element/status. Although elemental Great Sword was a somewhat viable choice in Monster Hunter World thanks to the Frostcraft armor set bonus (gradually increases the hunter's damage while they are not attacking or they have their weapon sheathed, then gradually decreases it back to normal as they attack). But Rise has no such skills, meaning that Great Sword is back to being mostly a raw damage type weapon. Most builds will be centered around maximizing raw damage through crits, meaning affinity is a very important stat for the Great Sword. Great Swords tend to excel at "hit and run" playstyles, in which the player finds an opening, deals a massive amount ofdamage, and then gets out before the monster can retaliate/recover. Because of this, the most useful skills on Great Sword are going to be those that complement these "hit and run" tactics, allowing the Great Sword to do what it does best: dealing a heck ton of damage with a single attack.
